Since his early teenage years Christopher Nicklin has been interested in guitar performance. At the age of 14 he started playing electric guitar in many different styles. However, after entering college at the age of 19 Christopher realized that classical guitar was his true passion. At that point he dedicated all his energy into classical music. His pursuit of being a professional musician led him to attend California State University Northridge where he studied under Dr. Steve Thachuk and John Dearman of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. While in Northridge Christopher performed in many master classes with such musicians as Zoran Dukic, Marcin Dylla, Alvaro Pierri, Denis Azabagic, and many more. While playing for these great musicians he also won several awards and competitions includes junior of the year, guitarist of the year, and the winner of the first Andy Summers Guitar Competition in 2014. After completing his masters in classical guitar performance at Cal State Northridge he moved back to the Bay Area where he enjoys his time teaching guitar, performing weddings, events, and practicing while continuing to get better at his craft.
